Most of us believe that only persons with mental deficiencies are the ones easy to hypnotize. But in reality, it is wrong. Subjects with sound mental health will rather accept hypnotic instructions. They receive instructions quickly and subject themselves to hypnosis. The individuals reaches the hypnosis state on their own capacity; the hypnotist’s role is only to pave the way for them. It would be helpful if they gave full cooperation to the hypnotist.
Before the hypnosis, the selection of an ideal place is required. Select a room or an area that is peaceful, sufficiently aerated, well lit, and one that helps you build up concentration. Make sure there is no noise from outside or any interference from outsiders. The place chosen has to be mentally acceptable to the subject. Know that even the smallest sense of emotional separation in the subject might hamper the hypnotic process.

Technique #1: Focusing the Eyes
The subject preparing for hypnosis needs to focus her eyes on the tip of her nose. By focusing one’s eyes like this, one can be subjected to hypnosis. The hypnotist should give instruction, very peacefully, clearly, and slowly as follows: “You are going into a pleasurable hallucination. Slowly, you are moving into a state of illusion.”
Repeat this twice or thrice. Continue thus: “Your eyes are gently closing…You are going deeper and deeper into the depths of your mind.” While you repeat this twice or thrice, the subject’s eyes gradually close off.
This technique enables one to be subjected to hypnosis because the eyes experience strain on keeping focused on the nose tip for long. The nerve centers of the eyes get weakened, and the subject reaches the hypnotic state quickly. Almost 60% of individuals can be hypnotized using this means.
Technique #2: Using Images
With the help of different images like pictures, rotating discs, etc. we can hypnotize individuals. Images that attract the eyes are made useful for this. By concentrating subject’s attention on one object, he will eventually experiences strain in the eyes and finally gain concentration.
Start by placing either a glittering coin or a picture in front of him. Ask him to look at it closely without blinking eyes. Following which the hypnotist should say this peacefully and clearly with an affirmation: “As moments pass by, you are getting deeper and deeper into the depths of your mind. You are entering into the hypnotic state…”
Give this instruction four or five times, at least. Mostly, the subject would reach the hypnosis state in ten minutes.
Technique #3: Using Rhythms
It is effortless to hypnotize using this method. First of all, the subject needs to close the eyes and take very long breaths. Following this, he needs to listen to some sound of high frequency repeatedly.
The sound should be elevated and lowered in a certain specific rhythm. This can create a kind of numbness, which prevents him from paying attention to anything else. In this situation, the hypnotist should keep on giving repeated instructions. It should be noted that people with nerve-related ailments should not be hypnotized using this method.
Hypnosis can be of great benefit and is relatively simple on practicing it with a willing participant. The critical thing is before undergoing hypnosis the subject should be prepared mentally.
