People now live in a civilized world of comfort that was never experienced in human history before. Man lives in a custom-designed astonishing world that was created with the help of science and technologies. Even after having all these facilities, people aren’t happy; they became restless with progressing life. The new studies suggest that millions of people will die from internal stress and depression by 2050. What causes human life disturbing? Why are the suicide cases increasing? What things they actually require? Why can’t humans live in harmony?

Is suicide a cause of mental illness?

Suicide was attributed to many forms of mental disorders, such as psychiatric disabilities, schizophrenia, personality disorder, and anxiety disorders. Such disorders are definitely internal health problems resulting from metabolic changes triggered by hormones, sensory nerves, and nervous systems. When we discover the socio-economic, political, and ideological factors that cause depression and peacelessness, those disturbing conditions are physically felt by people who suffer. Drugs and health habits that balance the chemicals in the brain have somewhat relieved the stresses of life. Yet modern world luxuries and knowledge do not really perpetuate the sweetness of our lives. Humans remained dissatisfied and became suicidal.

Humans have a lively experience of dissatisfaction, even with all these better living facilities. Also, while enjoying pleasurable life, human beings became belligerent due to chemical changes taking place in their bodies. Human basic nature is such that he will always try to achieve new goals. This short-term happiness is unlikely to last for long.

Human life is always going through evolutionary pressure regarding the possibility of new things and the productivity of life. The brain is in a state of internal and external tension due to the demands created from the basics of hunger and safety. This will develop sensations for enjoyment. Social recognition and luxury life are its forms.

There are also fundamental inherent traits of humans. Inquisition, adventure, and creativity are examples of some of the basic behaviors. The desires, feelings, passions, and greed of life are evolved. No changes have occurred in the biological and chemical activity in the human body depending on the environmental variations. Justifying those who commit suicide from a psychological perspective is a gross violation of human rights. Suicide is the creation of social disharmony.

Slaves never attempted for suicide

The slaves always have the position of animals, but they basically try to remain as slaves. Suicides among them were very less. They were only concerned about overcoming their struggles. They don’t even recognize their identity.

Until today, people who abstain from luxury and perform painful rituals struggle to understand life’s meaning. Because of their primitive lifestyle, they have very little sense of their identity. They rely on materialistic beliefs and sculptures for survival. Individuals who live with ideas of immortality, superstition, and firm religious beliefs have not yet developed a sense of their own identity, which makes them slaves of the modern world. They behave as inanimate objects with no particular thoughts or opinions. There are people who are willing to die for religion, for God, for the nation. Even for the recognition of themselves and their family members, they will proudly sacrifice their lives while living. Such deaths are hailed as heroic because every member of society believes in childhood.

Will suicide rates continue to increase?

Human awareness about life continues to increase over a millennium. The 21st-century man gained the ability to acquire and expand the knowledge and refine his identity. Modern civilization has decided that the purpose of life is to enjoy and be happy, creating human biological needs. Many ideologies that stand against human desires ultimately came to an end. A human who was aware of their rights is unsatisfied with the discrimination in the world. Humans who have been enslaved for thousands of years will be dissatisfied with the current state of affairs. Suicide rates are higher among those who are self-conscious. But among those living in traditional rural environments, suicide rates are lower.

Knowledge, education, and economic status are all key factors that determine the social status of humans. The surrounding environment determines everybody’s criteria for happiness, so losing recognition is hard and leads to suicidal—suicide increases in communities where the recognition in society is considered very important.

Those who are conscious of the concepts of social justice and equality will be dissatisfied in the conditions where their rights as human beings are denied. For various reasons, the inability to use one’s own abilities and perform well in society will create a sense of lifelessness.

Is suicide prevention possible?

The world of man’s pleasure, with all kinds of food, fertility, survival, and sex, is becoming ever more significant. Getting satisfaction is very difficult for human beings. They will commit suicide for recognition or lack of recognition in society. Pointing out 1000 reasons to live will not be enough for those who decided to die due to a lack of social acceptance. In this kind of situation, a person should move to a new environment leaving the problematic society. Identifying the signs of the man who is about to commit suicide and providing proper medical treatment can help at least temporarily. Various therapeutic psychotherapies can be useful to some extent. We cannot make a final solution with medication and biochemical changes. The social and political focus needs to give to address these situations seriously.
